Johnny Depp and Daughter to Star in Kevin Smith's 'Yoga Hosers'

Kevin Smith just pulled in some top talent for his next film Yoga Hosers in the form of Johnny Depp. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Depp and his daughter Lily-Rose Depp will star alongside Smith's daughter Harley Quinn Smith. Shooting for the film begins this week.

Here's how THR described the plot:

Hosers, written by Smith, centers on 15-year-old yoga nuts Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith), who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Depp) to fight for their lives with, according to the producers, “all seven Chakras, one Warrior Pose at a time.”

“People always ask me 'Are you ever going to make a comic book movie?'" Smith said. "This is it — but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our antiheroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two 15-year-old girls.”

Hosers is actually the second of three Canada-set films Smith is working on that have spun out of his Smodcast podcast. The first, Tusk, is set to premiere Sept. 19 and features the two teens briefly. That film's cast, which includes Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez and Ralph Garman, will appear in Yoga Hosers as well.

Natasha Lyonne, Tony Hale, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey and longtime Smith collaborator Jason Mewes are also playing parts in the movie.
