'John Wick' Sequel Nabs New Title, 2017 Release Date

"John Wick" is headed to Rome in 2017.

According to a Tweet from Exhibitor Relations, the sequel to the hit film -- now titled "John Wick: Chapter Two" -- will be released on February 10, 2017. The film will take Wick, played by "The Matrix's" Keanu Reeves, to Rome in order to "kick some Italian ass."

Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, Bridget Moynahan, Tom Sadowski and Lance Reddick will reprise their roles in the sequel. Common, Ruby Rose (“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”), Riccardo Scamarcio (“Burnt”) and Peter Stormare (“Fargo”) have also been added to the cast. Filming is already under way.

Produced for just $20 million, “John Wick” became a surprise 2014 hit for Lionsgate, grossing $78.7 million worldwide.
