"I’m not in the third part, but I could say that I really loved being a part of John Wick 2 and it was an amazing experience," Common told ComingSoon. "Working with Keanu [Reeves] and Chad [Stahelski], they’re just phenomenal. Challenged and really passionate about the stuff, and I can say that three is going to be incredible, though, I’ll tell you that much... Yeah, no, no, I’m not in it, but I know it’s going to be great."
Cassian debuted in John Wick: Chapter 2. The character, who is the bodyguard of Gianna D'Antonio, goes toe-to-toe with John Wick in that film and survives, which led some to believe he might reprise his role in the sequel. However, it sounds like that won't be the case, so it's unclear the next time -- if ever -- fans might see Cassian in action.
The upcoming third installment of the popular action franchise has Wick trying to escape from New York after breaking the cardinal rule of the secret assassin society by killing a fellow member on the grounds of the Continental Hotel. With a $14 million open contract on his life, Wick is stripped off all his usual allies and must seek out new help if he hopes to escape the city alive.
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Parabellum stars returning actors Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne and potentially Ruby Rose. They are joined by newcomers Halle Berry, Anjelica Huston, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jason Mantzoukas, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman and Tiger Hu Chen. It is scheduled to open on May 17, 2019.
