In a week, John Wick will return to the big screen in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, another film that throws Keanu Reeves' titular assassin into the middle of high-octane action sequences that mix gunplay with martial arts.

Now, the John Wick franchise and its distinctive "gun fu" fight sequences are heading into the world of video games with John Wick: Hex. Written and directed by indie games veteran Mike Bithell and published by Good Shepherd Entertainment, the third-person game will take a sophisticated approach to combat that relies on fast-paced real-time strategy.

As the announcement trailer shows, the game features a unique, almost cel-shaded look that captures the neo-noir spirit of the films.

Although it's unclear if Reeves will reprise the role of Wick in Hex, the game's voice casts includes franchise veterans like Ian McShane and Lance Reddick, as Endgaget notes.

The game will be initially released on Windows and Mac before heading to consoles at a later date.

While a release date for the game has not yet been announced, the title will only be available on the Epic Games store at launch.

Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick Chapter 3 - Parabellum stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Mark Dacascos, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Mantzoukas and Anjelica Huston. The film opens May 17.
