The following contains major spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4, in theaters now.

Another John Wick spinoff is in development, according to John Wick: Chapter 4 producer Erica Lee.

Lee revealed the mystery side project's existence in an interview with Collider. "There is another film that we're developing that I think we'll be announcing in the next, say, month or two," she said. "Then, I'm hopeful there's a Ballerina 2, and John Wick 5, and lots of other things. But we're developing a lot of stuff and having a lot of discussions with a lot of writers and brand management and [the] Wick universe is my utmost priority."

To date, Lionsgate has only officially announced two John Wick spinoffs: Ballerina and The Continental. The former is a big screen blockbuster headlined by Ana de Armas that takes place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4 and is slated for release in 2024. The latter is a period miniseries chronicling how Winston Scott assumed control of the Continental hotel and is expected to premiere on Peacock in late 2023. It's currently unclear what the premise of the third John Wick spinoff will be, although John Wick: Chapter 4's post-credits scene hints at where the franchise could be headed next.

Is John Wick: Chapter 5 Still Happening?

Lee's comments also made it clear that Lionsgate is still very much committed to the prospect of a fifth entry in the core John Wick franchise, as well. The studio originally planned on shooting John Wick: Chapter 4 and 5 back-to-back, however, director Chad Stahelski ultimately vetoed this in favor of focusing solely on Chapter 4. Stahelski explained the rationale behind this decision in a recent interview, insisting he was only trying to ensure that John Wick: Chapter 5 outdid its predecessor. "I don't know how to do a movie back-to-back and get better for the second one. You'd see John Wick 4 and then John Wick 4B, right?" he said.

Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves are both expected to return for John Wick: Chapter 5, although it's not immediately clear how the pair intends to continue John Wick's story. The legendary assassin seemingly dies at the end of John Wick: Chapter 4, which suggests that any follow-up films will need to either revive him or chart exploits from earlier in his career. Things might not be so cut and dried, though, as Stahelski recently teased the possibility that John Wick is still alive.
