John Wick is still desperately trying to escape from New York City by any means necessary -- including on horseback.
Set video and photos from John Wick: Parabellum surfaced over the weekend, showing star Keanu Reeves as the titular assassin in the middle of a high-speed chase through the streets of New York City. With the hit man pursued by a biker presumably sent to kill him, Wick tries to evade his pursuer galloping at full speed on a horse.
The clip from the John Wick: Parabellum set shows Reeves riding his trusty steed beneath an elevated subway section before trotting back to his mark between takes, with his stuntman on hand for the more dangerous sequences. Even with a stuntman available, Reeves handles himself well in the chase sequence.
The upcoming third installment of the popular action franchise has Wick trying to escape from New York after breaking the cardinal rule of the secret assassin society by killing a fellow member on the grounds of the Continental Hotel. With a $14 million open contract on his life, Wick is stripped off all his usual allies and must seek out new help if he hopes to escape the city alive.
By the looks of the set footage, Wick is pulling out all the stops to stay one step ahead of his would-be killers.
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Parabellum stars returning actors Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, and Common. They are joined by newcomers Halle Berry, Anjelica Huston, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jason Mantzoukas, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman, and Tiger Hu Chen. It opens May 17, 2019.
