John Wesley Shipp has weighed in on the casting of Billy Crudup as Barry Allen's father in Warner Bros.' upcoming "Flash" movie.
"Billy Crudup is AWESOME actor," Shipp wrote on Twitter. "Love this choice. Can't wait to see their take on it."
Shipp of course knows a thing or two about the Allen family: He starred as Barry Allen in the 1990 "Flash" television series and now plays Grant Gustin's father on the CW drama.

Crudup, who's known for his roles in such films as "Watchmen," "Almost Famous" and "Spotlight' joins Ezra Miller and Kiersey Clemons in the "Flash" film, directed by "Dope's" Rick Famuyiwa from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
Miller debuted as the Fastest Man Alive in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," and reprised the role for a cameo in "Suicide Squad." He's now shooting Zack Snyder's "Justice League," which also stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher.
"The Flash" movie begins production later this year before racing into theaters March 16, 2018. "The Flash" television series returns for its third season Oct 4. on The CW.
