UPDATE: This article originally listed Reilly's age as 84, as Wikipedia currently lists his birthday as Nov. 11, 1936. However, Caitlin Reilly has clarified that her father was actually 86 years old. We apologize for the error.

Veteran soap opera actor John Reilly, who also provided the voice for Clint Barton/Hawkeye on 1994's Iron Man: The Animated Series, has passed away. He was 86 years old.

Reilly's daughter, Caitlin Reilly, confirmed his passing in a post to Instagram, though no cause of death has been made available at this time. "John Henry Matthew Reilly, aka Jack. The brightest light in the world has gone out," she wrote. "Imagine the best person in the world. Now imagine that person being your dad. I'm so grateful he was mine. I'm so grateful I got to love him. I'm so grateful I made it in time to hold him and say goodbye. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do, but I know he'll be with me. I love you forever Daddy."

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Reilly began his acting career in the mid-1960s. In addition to playing the role of Dr. Dan Stewart on the long-running soap opera As the World Turns from 1974 to 1976, Reilly made a slew of one-off appearances in various television shows throughout the years, including A Man Called Shenandoah in 1966, Hawaii Five-O and Wonder Woman in 1978, as well as The Incredible Hulk in 1980.

Reilly later landed the voice role of Hawkeye on Iron Man, which ran on first-run syndication from 1994 to 1996 as part of the Marvel Action Hour programming block. He had recurring roles on a number of other shows as well, including as the character Roy Ralston on Dallas in 1984 and as Bill Taylor on Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1997.

However, Reilly was perhaps best known for his roles on such soap operas as General Hospital, Passions and Sunset Beach. On General Hospital, he played the character Sean Donely from 1984 to 1995. He later reprised the role for special appearances in 2008 and 2013.
