FOX announced at New York Comic Con that John Noble, who appeared in the first two seasons of "Sleepy Hollow," will return for the fourth season. Noble appeared at the end of a sizzle reel played at the con, and Fox also tweeted an announcement about his role.

Noble's return will likely be supernatural, since his character Henry Parrish (born Jeremy Crane; The Horseman of War) died at the end of season two. If Noble is reprising this role, Parrish will be one of few familiar faces left on the show. Season four is being treated as a sort of "reboot," with Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) based in D.C. rather than the titular Sleepy Hollow. Most significantly, after the controversial death of his partner Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) at the end of season three, he will be working with a new partner, Diana Thomas (Janina Gavankar).

Season four of "Sleepy Hollow" is slated to premiere on FOX in early 2017.
