John Constantine has one of the most complicated, messy romantic histories in the DC Universe and, in the DC Black Label miniseries Hellblazer: Rise and Fall, it's about to get a hell of a lot more devilish.

DC has released a preview of the miniseries' second issue, written by Tom Taylor, illustrated by Darick Robertson, colored by Diego Rodriguez and lettered by Deron Bennett. Constantine wakes up from a wild night only to realize he just slept with the Devil himself. The preview pages and standard cover, illustrated by Robertson and Rodriguez, and variant cover, illustrated by J.H. Williams III, are below.

  • John Constantine has been in trouble before, but running afoul of the Devil himself is crossing a line even for the self-styled Hellblazer. But that’s exactly who darkens Constantine’s door with news that John’s investigation into the gruesome “angel murders” of London’s billionaire class and Satan’s own vendetta against a treacherous demon are actually the same mission. What’s that mean? You guessed it: It’s time for a team up!

The three-issue miniseries has Constantine confront his earliest haunting memories as he reconnects with a childhood friend. As Constantine finds himself on the trail of a serial killer who leaves his victims resembling angels, he has an unexpected meeting with the Devil, with the preview revealing that things have taken an unexpected turn.

Written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Darick Robertson, Hellblazer: Rise and Fall #2 goes on sale Nov. 3 from DC Comics.
