With Simon Spurrier's first storyline as the writer of John Constantine: Hellblazer having recently concluded with issue #3, DC Comics has released an official preview of the Sandman Universe title's next tale -- "Scrubbing Up" -- which begins late this February in issue #4.

John Constantine: Hellblazer #4 sees artist Matías Bergara join the book, taking over for Aaron Campbell. The issue introduces Tommy Willowtree, a street mage who has been guarding England from mystical threats in Constantine's absence, ushering a new era of peace in London using white magic. Tommy is described as "a gentleman, a scholar, a clean-living, vegan acolyte of love." In other words, he's everything Constantine is not. Naturally, our old pal Johnny can't stand the guy -- even less so when he is forced to team up with him. This two-part adventure starring Constantine and Willowtree will conclude in March's John Constantine: Hellblazer #5.

"The second arc will be a little more blackly comedic (I love that under the auspices of horror' one can pivot in so many directions), being a two-parter called "Scrubbing Up," drawn by my old Coda brother Matías Bergara," Spurrier said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "Expect evil ravens, hipsters performing pun-magic and John getting drunker than you’ve ever seen him before. Fun."

Written by Simon Spurrier and illustrated by Matías Bergara with colors by Jordie Bellaire, John Constantine: Hellblazer #4 goes on sale Feb. 26 from DC Comics. John Paul Leon's cover, as well as several preview pages featuring Beraga and Bellaire's unlettered art can be found below.
