Cena made the announcement in a video released this morning on Nickelodeon's YouTube channel, along with the news that he's returning to host the Kids' Choice Awards, and premiering a new game show called Keep It Spotless, on which contestants have to "keep it spotless" for huge prizes.

Cena's Turtles character, Baron Draxum, is described as "an alchemist warrior mutant who seeks to turn all of humanity into mutants." The recurring character will debut in the show's premiere episode.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will change several conventions from previous TMNT adaptations, the biggest of all seems to be that Raphael will now lead the team, while Leonardo will be depicted as the “self-professed ‘coolest’ brother.”

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be Nickelodeon’s second TMNT animated series, with 2012’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ending after five seasons. The new 2D-animated series will debut with 26 episodes later this year,
