The upcoming Halloween revival has just gotten a public seal of approval from original filmmaker John Carpenter.

In a brand new promo released online, Carpenter, who executive produces and composes the score for the new slasher film, praises the movie along with original franchise star Jamie Lee Curtis who returns to reprise her iconic role as definitive scream queen Laurie Strode.

"This is as good as I've seen since we did the first movie," admitted Carpenter who directed and co-wrote the 1978 original film.

The featurette also includes previously unseen footage from the horror film expanding on moments revealed by yesterday's second trailer as masked serial killer Michael Myers terrorizes the town of Haddonfield for one final confrontation with Laurie and her family.

"It is intense," observed Curtis. "Just brutal."
