John Carpenter Heads To <i>Fangland</i>

John Carpenter has signed on to direct Fangland, a reimagining of Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Sriram Das of DAS Films and Jason Blum Blumhouse Productions are producing.

Based on the 2007 novel by former 60 Minutes producer John Marks, Fangland follows Evangeline Harker, a producer for a television newsmagazine who's sent to Transylvania to interview a notorious crime boss. However, when they meet in a crumbling hotel, Evangeline discovers he something much more monstrous.

Mark Wheaton (The Messengers, Friday the 13th) wrote the screenplay.
