Several pieces of artwork were stolen from the late John Buscema's family, and his daughter Dianne Buscema-Gerogianis is urging everyone to keep their eyes open.Walter Simonson posted Dianne's message on Twitter, as well as his official Facebook page, writing, "I am reaching out to you all as 45 pieces of Dad's original artwork was stolen from our family this morning. I cannot go into detail as the police and authorities have been notified. I am asking to please contact me if you hear or see anything for sale. Among the pieces of art stolen is Buscema's sketch of the Lord of the Underworld Mephisto, as well as the Inhuman monarch Black Bolt and the cosmically powered Silver Surfer. Simonson urged his fans to help spread the word, alongside fellow artist Joe Jusko.

Buscema is best known for his work at Marvel during the '60s and '70s when the publisher ascended into one of the leading forces in the comic book industry. He is well known for his work on Avengers and Conan the Barbarian, as well as runs of Fantastic Four and Thor.
