Pacific Rim Uprising star John Boyega has been the subject of numerous fancasts placing him in popular superhero roles, including DC Comics' John Stewart in the upcoming Green Lantern Corps and Marvel's Blade. Now, the actor has addressed the possibility of taking on those roles.

Screen Rant asked Boyega whether he'd be interested in becoming part of an comic book movie universe. "I mean, yeah," he responded. "I mean, that wouldn't be a problem. I just don’t know who."

However, when it was suggested that he play Stewart or Blade, Boyega replied: "They’re doing a Green Lantern? [Groans] Sss.. Hmmm ... Eghhh ... [Laughs] And Wesley, man. That’s Wesley [Snipes] for Blade. I would want to see Wesley."

Boyega's remarks seem to indicate he's not particularly interested in pursuing either role, although that could certainly change.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has suggested he's open to making another Blade movie, but that fans shouldn't expect to see the character any time soon. Snipes has expressed interest in reprising his role, but it's likely Marvel would want to bring in someone new.

Casting for Green Lantern Corps is still very much up in the air. The Fast and the Furious star Tyrese Gibson confirmed talks with Warner Bros. in 2017 to play Stewart, but there's little indication those discussions have progressed. Screenwriter Michael Green has also expressed his desire to see American Gods actor Ricky Whittle put on Stewart's ring. Casting details suggest the film is looking for someone between 21 and 30 to play Stewart, which would put the 25-year-old Boyega in the right range.

Arriving in theaters on March 23, director Steven S. DeKnight’s Pacific Rim Uprising stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Rinko Kikuchi, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Adria Arjona, Karan Brar, Ivanna Sakhno, Zhang Jin, Zhu Zhu, Burn Gorman and Charlie Day.
