Multifaceted actress, writer and director Julie Delpy has plans to bring combat rock to the big screen in the form of a Joe Strummer biopic, Variety reports. Called The Right Profile, after a song on The Clash's seminal 1979 record London Calling, the film will focus on the band's lead singer and guitarist.

Not much has been said about the actual contents of the film, but sources contend it revolves around Strummer's plans to disappear from the public spotlight around the time of 1982's Combat Rock. During that time, Strummer essentially left the band with next to no contact between himself, the band and managers. Strummer returned only to disband the seminal British punk act after the failure of 1985's Cut the Crap.

Delpym who wrote, directed and starred in 2 Days in Paris, Le Skylab and the upcoming 2 Days in New York, will direct for producer Simon Halfon.
