Jock's Final Batman Who Laughs Cover Puts a Smile on That Face

The cover to the final issue of The Batman Who Laughs from series artist Jock has been revealed, and it's sure to send a chill down fans' spines.

Released by DCcomics.com as part of the announcement of the title's forthcoming seventh and final issue, the cover -- which mirrors that the first issue, only with the real Batman -- features a crazed Dark Knight sporting an almost Joker-like smile while his eyes glow a nightmarish red, one of them even being exposed through his cowl.

In addition to the smile, red, dripping lipstick covers the left part of Batman's bottom lip, with green ooze -- possibly Joker Venom --  joining it on the right. Completing the spooky atmosphere the cover generates is that this now-deranged Batman is looking right at the reader, almost as if he's searching for a fresh kill.

Originally intended to be a six-issue miniseries, The Batman Who Laughs was extended to a seventh issue due to positive reception and high sales. The titular character himself debuted during Dark Nights: Metal and is an evil alternate reality version of Batman who was infected by The Joker with the same chemicals that turned the latter into who he is, causing the Dark Knight to become an amalgam of himself and his greatest enemy.
