"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling teamed with DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee for what's perhaps the most unexpected contribution to "Love Is Love," the upcoming comics anthology to benefit the victims and families of the mass shooting at Orlando, Florida's Pulse nightclub.

Lee's illustration, which he posted on his Instagram page, features Rowling's characters Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and Albus Dumbledore standing, wands raised, beneath a watercolor rainbow flag, added by Mark Chiarello.

Writer Marc Andreyko, the anthology's editor, told The New York Times Rowling permitted them to use a quote by Dumbledore from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" -- "Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open" -- as a caption. The author revealed in 2007 that Dumbledore, the former headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay.

Lee added on his Instagram page, "This first of a kind illustration was done with [J.K. Rowling's] blessing."

Forty-nine people were murdered and another 53 wounded June 22 inside Pulse, a gay nightclub, in the deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman in U.S. history. Proceeds from the sales of "Love Is Love," to be released Dec. 28 by DC Comics and IDW Publishing, benefit Equality Florida, which has established a fund to help victims and their families.

Other contributors to the anthology include Jason Aaron, Rafael Albuquerque, Brian Michael Bendis, Marguerite Bennett, Matt Bomer, Mike Carey, Olivier Coipel, Ming Doyle, Kieron Dwyer, Phil Jimenez, Damon Lindelof, Steve Orlando, Patton Oswalt, Brandon Peterson, Taki Soma, Morgan Spurlock, James Tynion IV and Matt Wagner.
