HBO is reuniting with "Westworld" producer J.J. Abrams for a new sci-fi drama.

The premium cable network has announced it will work with Abrams and his Bad Robot production company to develop “Glare," an hour-long drama exploring the colonization of another planet.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Javier Gullon will write the script and serve as an executive producer  (he previously had a blind script deal with Bad Robot). The project hails from Warner Bros. Television through its overall deal with Abrams. Ben Stephenson, the former BBC head of drama turned head of development for Bad Robot, will also executive produce.

Abrams of course has a long television history, serving as creator or co-creator of "Felicity," "Alias," "Lost" and "Fringe," and as executive producer of "Person of Interest," "Revolution," "11.22.63," "Almost Human" and "Roadies." While he's found big-screen success with the "Mission: Impossible," "Star Trek" and "Star Wars" franchises, television never seems far from his mind.

Gullon is a Spanish screenwriter who earned critical acclaim for Denis Villeneuve's 2013 psychological thriller "Enemy." His credits also include "Out of the Dark," "Hierro" and "Invader."
