The world was shocked to learn yesterday that the fan-favorite series would be ending its run after the upcoming season after negotiations for contract renewal for a potential thirteenth and fourteenth season broke down. This morning, it was revealed that the main reason for the network's decision to end the still-popular sitcom was a result of Parsons, who portrays breakout character Sheldon Cooper, wanting to move on to different projects after spending the past twelve years working on the show.

With 24 episodes to go, The Big Bang Theory will become the longest-running single-camera comedy in television history following the conclusion of the series offering fans one last chance to spend time with Parsons' Cooper and the rest of the colorful cast of characters.
