Cartoonist Jim Mahfood will return to his creator-owned Grrl Scouts universe with an all-new miniseries, Stone Ghost, from Image Comics.
Grrl Scouts: Stone Ghost #1, the first in a six-issue miniseries, will launch in November 2021 and will feature a 1:25 incentive variant copy by Eisner Award-winning cover artist Peach Momoko. "I'm extremely excited about this new Grrl Scouts series and I think fans and new readers alike will be very entertained and definitely get a lot of bang for their buck with this one," said Mahfood in a press release.
"I'm introducing an entire new cast of characters, expanding on the mythology of the Grrl Scouts, and handling every aspect of the production of the book: writing, drawing, coloring, and lettering, to make this a very unique experience! This series is for fans and collectors alike who are looking for something different and off-beat when they're staring at that wall of new releases in the comic shop," Mahfood continued.
Written and drawn by Mahfood, Grrl Scouts: Stone Ghost #1 will follow Dio, Turtleneck Jones and Gordi "as they face off against the sinister and unpredictable evil of The Teeth," in an "over-the-top, psychedelic adventure" full of unique art, bonus comics and behind-the-scenes content. Stone Ghost is the newest chapter in the Grrl Scouts story, which first began in 1995 with Grrl Scouts #1, Mahfood's first self-published comic under the 40oz Comcis banner.
Grrl Scouts: Stone Ghost #1 hits comic book shops on Nov. 24. It will also be available for purchase on digital platforms like Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology and Google Play.
