In his continuing effort to raise money for the Book Industry Charitable Foundation, artist and DC Comics Publisher Jim Lee is selling his sketch of Neil Gaiman's Sandman.

Available for auction on eBay, Lee's sketch stars the character Morpheus/Sandman and, at the time of writing, is currently at a bid of over $11,000. Lee's drawing also features the Endless and a series of powerful characters from The Sandman comic, including Death, Destiny, Dream, Destruction, Despair, Desire and Delirium.

As part of his 60 sketches over 60 days event, Lee has already unveiled different drawings of several characters, including Wonder Girl, Grim Knight, Deadman, Vampire Batman and more. Most the profits from these sketches are going to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation, which is running a program to help comic book shops that have lost sales due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, Vertigo's Sandman comic series ran from 1989 until 1996. The series spawned several spinoffs, including Death: The High Cost of Living and Sandman Midnight Theatre. Sandman continues to enjoy some measure of popularity, resulting in several attempts at adaptation.

A film based on The Sandman series was planned with The Dark Knight Rises' Joseph Gordon-Levitt attached as a producer, though the project never got off the ground. Netflix recently announced that it plans to release a live-action TV series based on Sandman.
