Acclaimed comic book creator and DC Comics Publisher Jim Lee has been auctioning sketches for charity, with his latest depicting the iconic DC character Boston Brand/Deadman.

DC has given CBR an exclusive first look at Lee's sketch of Deadman, which you can see below. The image homages the cover to 1967's Strange Adventures #207. That comic was illustrated by Neal Adams and had Boston search for his killer while helping a singer at a local nightclub. The auction is live through eBay here.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic's significant disruptions to the comic book industry, Lee's charity auctions have benefited the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC). The organization assists financially troubled bookshops and comic book stores across the country, which is especially timely as major publishers have stopped releasing new comic books globally due to the pandemic.

To date, Lee's charity auctions have raised over $75,000 towards BINC, with DC donating an additional $250,000 to directly benefit comic retailers nationwide in the face of the global health crisis. Lee has been posting new charity sketches daily, rendering fan-favorite characters for fans to bid on to save comic books.

Created in 1967 by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino in Strange Adventures #205, Deadman is Boston Brand a murdered circus acrobat whose ghost can possess different bodies.
