DC Comics Publisher/Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee shared his take on one of the most twisted relationships in comics history. Lee's recent charity sketch features Harley Quinn in the arms of the Joker, as they dance around and around.

Lee revealed the sketch on his Twitter account. He is holding a three-day auction for the sketch on his eBay page. At the time of this writing, the sketch has a price tag of $10,288.

Harley Quinn first appeared in Batman: The Animated Series as the right-hand woman of the Joker. It wasn't until the comic book one-shot Mad Love by series architects Paul Dini and Bruce Timm that light was finally shed on her origins. Doctor Harleen Quinzel was a new hire at Arkham Asylum who found herself falling for the Clown Prince of Crime after several sessions. Eventually, she donned a red-black-and-white jester suit and broke him out of prison. Though Harley has changed her look and broken away from the Joker, Lee's sketch is a haunting reminder of her past.

Lee plans to draw 60 sketches, each focusing on a different DC character. All proceeds from the auctions will go to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC), which is helping support comic book shops in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Other artists, such as Olivia de Berardinis, have contributed sketches to the auctions.
