DC Comics' Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee named The Secret Spiral of Swamp Kid as the upcoming DC title he is most eagerly awaiting.

The Secret Spiral of Swamp Kid is an upcoming young adult graphic novel about teenage boy named Russell Weinwright, who is a re-imagining of the DC character Swamp Thing. The graphic novel will be written and drawn by Kirk Scroggs, who is well-known for the Snoop Troop books

While sitting down with ICv2Lee cited Swamp Kid's uniqueness as a reason he was excited for the book, saying, "It's unlike anything we've published. It's essentially like a diary, a journal that a kid in school has written. It's really a stream of consciousness. It's funny, it's topical, and we're very anxious to see how that performs in the marketplace."

He added, "I think we're so used to this linear storytelling with three acts and a particular style of storytelling in the art itself. I think for us to fully unlock our full potential, we need to explore and push the boundaries of what we've traditionally done in this space."
