Jim Henson Company Plans Animated Frog and Toad

The Jim Henson Company plans to develop an animated film based on Frog and Toad, the award-winning series of children's books by Arnold Lobel, Deadline reports.

The four books, published between 1970 and 1979, chronicle the exploits of a pair of amphibian friends, named simply Frog and Toad, as they do things like fly a kite or clean Toad's house. The first book, Frog and Toad Are Friends, received the Caldecott Honor; the second book, Frog and Toad Together, won a Newbery Honor. The books also inspired a Tony Award-nominated musical A Year With Frog and Toad.
