Jessica Yu Li Henwick revealed the three requests she had when joining The Matrix 4 and discussed her love of the franchise.

The actor spoke to Empire for its latest issue and explained what it was like to board the revival of the fan-favorite franchise. Mostly, it involved a good bit of training, something Henwick is accustomed to after appearing on Game of ThronesIron Fist and The Defenders. "I haven’t seen a cut of the film, so I don’t know what’s in it and what isn’t, but I trained every day for months," Henwick said. "There are a couple of cast members who didn’t have any physical stuff and they were so sad. How can you be in The Matrix and not get to do any of the good stuff?"

"I grew up thinking Matrix was the coolest thing ever," she continued. "Bullet-time, the multiple agents, the pills and the rabbit! When I signed on, I said the three things I want are a leather jacket, sunglasses and some wire work. I got two out of the three – I’ll leave you to guess which ones."

Given Henwick's discussion of doing training and her long history of playing formidable fighters in various TV shows, it seems wire work is likely to be part of her role. As for whether she gets to wear a leather jacket or sunglasses in the upcoming film, fans will just have to wait for the end of the year.

Along with Henwick, the growing cast of the fourth Matrix movie features most of the franchise's original stars, including Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity and Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe. Several newcomers have also signed on, including Neil Patrick Harris, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jonathan Groff. And just days ago, Christina Ricci joined Matrix 4 after previously working with director Lana Wachowski on 2008's Speed Racer. One major character who won't be returning, however, is Hugo Weaving's Agent Smith.

Directed by Lana Wachowski, The Matrix 4 stars Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity and Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff and Christina Ricci in undisclosed roles. The film arrives in theaters and on HBO Max Dec. 22.
