MTV has officially announced the nominees for the 2016 Fandom Awards, and several comic book-based franchises -- including "Jessica Jones" and "Suicide Squad" -- have made the cut.
The awards, which celebrate fans from across mass media, will take place at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Winners will be announced at the MTV Fandom Fest, which kicks off at 6:30 pm PT on Thursday, July 21st with food, drinks, games and giveaways before transitioning into the taping of the Fandom Awards at 8 pm PT.

Voting is now open online and will run through Wednesday, July 20th. However, the vote for nominees in the "Ship of the Year" category will held exclusively on Tumblr; those nominees will be announced on Friday, July 8.
