Jessica Jones Season 3 will expose the world-weary private detective as a fraud -- or so hopes Gregory Salinger, who aims to prove she is no hero.

In the first full Season 3 trailer, Jessica finds herself under siege from Salinger, who calls her a cheater and accuses her of wasting every advantage she was given. "You can't control yourself," he says. "You have no discipline, just brute force." When Jessica demands to know what he wants, he offers a chilling responds: "I want you to die."

In the comics, of course, Salinger is a longtime villain. Following his debut in 1977's Omega the Unknown #9 by Steve Gerber, Mary Skrenes and Jim Mooney, he took over the Foolkiller mantle from Ross G. Everbest. He made it his mission to destroy "fools," or anyone who "lacked poetry in their souls." This led him to face off against the Defenders and Spider-Man, among other Marvel heroes. An existential crisis led him to be institutionalized, but he inspired a third person -- Kurt Gerhardt -- to take over his mission. Most recently, he joined Deadpool's Mercs for Money, but left the team after a short while. Salinger has no superpowers, but he is in peak physical health and studied psychology.

The trailer offers a glimpse of several other characters in action, including Trish Walker as Hellcat. It also reveals that Jeri Hogarth will play a critical role in getting Salinger out of prison, further endangering their lives. "When you cozy up to maniacs, people around you get hurt," Jessica tells Jeri, who seems unwilling to take her advice.

Streaming on Netflix, Jessica Jones is executive produced by Melissa Rosenberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. The series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, J. R. Ramirez as Oscar Arocho, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth and Janet McTeer. Season 3 will premiere on June 14.
