The second season of Jessica Jones is still a ways away, but a new teaser image for the sophomore season proves that Krysten Ritter’s begrudging private eye-turned-superhero has still got it. The image looks to show Jessica on a rural road, lifting something massive and metallic -- it could be an enormous vehicle or something else entirely -- and looking over her shoulder nervously.
The image comes courtesy of Empire Magazine, which has an exclusive story on the Netflix show coming up in its February issue. The season will see the return of numerous, pivotal characters from the show’s first season, including David Tennant’s mind-controlling Kilgrave.
“We’re always digging deeper into Jessica’s character and this season we’re peeling back even more layers, revealing more about the experiences that have shaped her present-day life,” said Melissa Rosenberg, the series’ showrunner.
Jessica last appeared in the ensemble series The Defenders, which brought together the four main characters of Netflix’s Marvel slate -- Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and, of course, Jessica Jones -- to thwart the mysterious Hand organization’s latest sinister plot. The first trailer for Jessica Jones revealed the show's second season will debut to the streaming service on March 8.
