When Netflix started airing their own series of Marvel shows like Daredevil, fans were excited to see what would come next. Jessica Jones was well-liked by audiences, as was Luke Cage. By Iron Fist, though, interest in the Netflix variant on the Defenders had waned dramatically. The Defenders team-up show was enjoyable, but didn’t receive the success that Netflix and Marvel hoped that it would.

However, Marvel has almost all of their shows on Disney+ now. A great deal of their original content is there, and shows like WandaVision take place in the MCU, even more so than Jessica Jones once did. If Marvel wanted to continue the storylines from Jessica Jones, though, there’s plenty of material for spin-offs.

10 Knightress Miniseries

jessica jones on the train

In the comics, before Jessica settled on just being herself — Jessica Jones, the private investigator — she tried a stint as a masked vigilante. Much like Matt Murdock as Daredevil, Jessica tried to have an alter ego in a costume called Knightress. She ultimately learned that being Knightress wasn’t the right call for her.

However, if Marvel wanted to bridge the gap between the Jessica Jones TV show and a new storyline for Jessica in the MCU, giving her a short stint as the Knightress might be just the way to do it. If she realizes during this show that she doesn’t want to be a masked hero, she can be the private investigator for the MCU to continue her show.

9 Jessica And Luke Together

One of the most romantic couples in Marvel is Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. The two of them absolutely adore each other, and their love can endure pretty much anything. They even have a daughter, Danielle Cage, who they also love deeply.

Seeing the two of them together in the Marvel Netflix shows was exciting, but fans would enjoy even more if the two of them had a spin-off show together. The two of them could be a couple and start their family on screen.

8 The Golden Trio

luke

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage named their daughter “Danielle” because it’s the feminized version of their best friend’s name, Daniel Rand. Daniel Rand — also known as Danny, or the Iron Fist — is also a character present in the Marvel Netflix shows. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand team up often; Luke and Danny form the dynamic duo Power Man and Iron Fist, the heroes for hire. If Jessica Jones were to continue beyond the show as it was, pulling in both Luke and Danny would provide plenty of material.

7 A Show For Hellcat

Trish Walker

The main antagonist of the third season of Jessica Jones was Trish Walker. She’s more familiar to Marvel Comics fans as Patsy Walker, also known as Hellcat. She’s an antagonist for Jessica Jones — who is her sister in all the ways that matter, and her best friend even beyond that — because she goes absolutely wild in season three.

Seeking revenge, she becomes someone Jessica has to stop instead of help. However, at the end of it all, Trish realized that she was the bad guy, and ended up surrendering herself to be taken to prison. Continuing Hellcat’s story would be an excellent way for Marvel to utilize a Jessica Jones spin-off opportunity.

6 Malcolm On His Own

Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse

Another fan favorite side character on Jessica Jones was Malcolm Ducasse. He’s a neighbor of Jessica's in the first season. Later on, helps her out as her secretary, then as an associate just to assist her. The two of them do butt heads often, and when Malcolm finally got fed up with Jessica and Trish, he ditched them to help a different private investigator. Malcolm ultimately ended up working for Jeri Hogarth, much like other characters in the Marvel Netflix shows. Spinning Malcolm off all on his own — perhaps with Tiffany Mack reprising her role as Zaya Okonjo — would be an easy transition for Marvel.

5 Superhero Lawyers

Jeri Hogarth from Jessica Jones

Though Malcolm got fired and had his falling out with Zaya, breaking up with her, if he were to get it together for a spin-off, he could probably get his job back with Jeri Hogarth. Having an in with superheroes is definitely something Jeri Hogarth wants. Hogarth has also appeared in other Marvel Netflix shows like Daredevil and Iron Fist, which makes her a good point to bridge the stories. If Marvel were going to spin off of Jessica Jones in any way, then utilizing Jeri Hogarth and her concept of lawyers that help out superheroes wouldn’t be a bad route.

4 Bringing Back The Defenders

Daredevil Defenders Marvel Netflix

With the introduction of Marvel’s new thread of television shows airing on Disney+, there has never been a better time to bring the Defenders back to the MCU. As programs like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier tie directly into the main thread of the movies, the Defenders could easily be introduced as a b-team to the Avengers.

Before giving the Defenders their own space in the movies, they should probably be introduced on the small screen. Spinning off Jessica and the rest of the team in a continuation of their team-up show, The Defenders, would be a good first step to bringing them back.

3 Jessica Jones Can Help Matt Murdock In The MCU

charlie cox as matt murdock - Daredevil on Netflix

There has been news buzzing all over the place that Charlie Cox is potentially appearing in the next Spider-Man movie. Fans are excited, optimistic that Charlie Cox will be reprising his role as Matt Murdock from his character’s titular Netflix TV show. If he’s going to be appearing in Spider-Man as Peter Parker’s lawyer, though, this is a great opportunity to introduce Jessica to the MCU as well. If Matt Murdock is the lawyer for the Avengers, Jessica Jones could team up with him to help him out. Matt, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page need all the help they can get for their new firm.

2 Captain Marvel’s New Best Friend

When Jessica Jones was first being conceived of, the role of Trish Walker was originally supposed to actually be Carol Danvers. The two of them are old friends in the comics, so this made sense. However, as Carol Danvers still needed to be introduced as an important player in the main MCU timeline, this was changed, and Jessica’s best friend in the show was Trish Walker instead. Now that Carol Danvers — also known as Captain Marvel — is in the MCU, though, she and Jessica can team up and keep working together.

1 Working With J. Jonah Jameson

J Jonah Jameson yelling into the sky in Spider-Man

Another fun storyline Jessica Jones had in the comics is her time spent working for the Daily Bugle. Much like Spider-Man himself, Jessica was once employed by J. Jonah Jameson. Because Peter Parker isn’t an adult yet, there’s still time for him to get his job at the Daily Bugle and for this plot to happen. J. Jonah Jameson — hopefully still portrayed by J. K. Simmons — could hire both Peter Parker for photos of Spider-Man, and hire Jessica Jones for information on Spider-Man.
