With the third and final season of Jessica Jones now streaming, the Netflix chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially come to an end. However, series star Krysten Ritter is definitely open to playing the superhero drama's titular character again at some point down the road.Previously, Ritter stated that she didn't think she would play Jessica Jones again now that the popular Netflix series has closed the book on its story. However, that apparently doesn't mean she wouldn't jump at the chance to don the leather jacket once more, should the opportunity present itself.RELATED: Jessica Jones Star Krysten Ritter Reacts to Show's Final Season"I would play [Jessica Jones] again in a heartbeat - she's the coolest character ever and I love her!" Ritter wrote on Twitter. "Hey, you never know what the future holds. As for now I'm so proud of the long run and the deep character work I got to do. It's been a dream and never say never!"

Ritter began playing Jessica Jones back in 2015. The character's eponymous series was the second of Marvel Television's Netflix originals, preceded by Daredevil and succeeded by Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher. The cancellations of these series began late last year, seemingly as a result of Marvel and Netflix outgrowing their business relationship. Iron Fist was the first to fall, followed by Luke Cage and Daredevil. At that point, writing seemed to be on the wall for Jessica Jones and The Punisher, which were too canceled, effectively turning the former's previously-announced third season into its last. However, a clause in the company's contract with Netflix would prevent that from happening for at least two years. With that in mind, fans and cast members alike will simply have to wait and see what exactly the future holds for the Defenders. Streaming now on Netflix, Jessica Jones Season 3 stars Krysten Ritter, Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Benjamin Walker, Jeremy Bobb, Sarita Choudhury and Rebecca De Mornay.
