Actor Krysten Ritter dubbed herself a "Disney princess" following the arrival of her Marvel series Jessica Jones on Disney+.

The show's star posted a throwback picture on Instagram of herself in character as Jessica Jones, complete with her trademark leather jacket and ripped jeans, to celebrate the show's move from Netflix to Disney+. "Guess who’s a Disney princess now?" read the caption on the picture. "Go (re)watch @marvelsjessicajones now streaming on her new home, @disneyplus."

Jessica Jones ran on Netflix for three seasons from 2015-2019. Ritter played the title role, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name who was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos and premiered in her own comic series Alias in 2001.  Jessica Jones was one of four shows that was part of the Defenders saga, along with DaredevilLuke Cage and Iron Fist, whose titular characters all teamed up in The Defenders miniseries in 2017.

All of the Defenders shows, as well as Daredevil's spinoff The Punisher, were removed from Netflix at the beginning of March and arrived at their new home, Disney+, on March 16. The move prompted Disney+ to update its parental controls, since all six shows have TV-MA ratings and Disney is known for a focus on family-friendly content. All users were prompted to revisit their parental controls upon opening the Disney streaming platform for the first time after the shows arrived.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. also made the jump from Netflix to Disney+ on March 16, although the series didn't originate on Netflix like the Defenders saga, nor does it share the TV-MA rating. President of Disney Streaming Michael Paull praised the change, saying, "Disney+ has served as the home for some of the most beloved brands in the industry, and the addition of these live-action shows brings more from the Marvel brand together, all in one place." While most Marvel Cinematic Universe content is now consolidated in one place on Disney+, some properties are still missing from the streaming platform, most notably the MCU Spider-Man trilogy, which Disney shares the rights to with Sony.

The move to Disney+, as well as a recent Instagram post by Krysten Ritter's hairstylist showing the actor sporting a Jessica Jones-style haircut again, has led many fans to speculate that the Ritter may be returning to the MCU as Jessica Jones. Adding fuel to the speculation is the fact that Charlie Cox recently reprised his role as Daredevil for an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Jessica Jones is now streaming on Disney+.
