With the third and final season of Jessica Jones premiering on Netflix later this month, a new behind-the-scenes featurette shows star Krysten Ritter stepping up into a new role: Director.

The promo sees Ritter directing an episode focused on Jessica's estranged friend, Trish Walker. As Ritter walks through action sequences with co-star Rachael Taylor and the rest of the crew, her castmates explain how she's uniquely qualified to step up as director, given her history and level of investment in the titular superhero and the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

"I just feel crazy, crazy luck that she's the person directing this [episode]," Taylor said during the featurette. "There is no single person that is as invested in Jessica Jones than Krysten Ritter. No other director knows what it's like to originate a superhero character."

Season 2 ended with Jessica and Trish parting ways after Trish killed Jessica's villainous mother before her eyes. With Trish continuing her own fledgling career as a crimefighter, it remains to be seen how the two characters will approach each other when the third season begins.
