Plemons is well-known for his roles on TV, which include Todd Alquist on Breaking Bad, Landry Clarke on Friday Night Lights and Robert Daly on Black Mirror. Plemons has also starred in such films 2012's Battleship and 2017's The Post.

Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows) will direct the film. Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions, which most recently worked on Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, is set to produce the movie, with Michael Green (Logan) having been responsible for the most recent draft of the film.

The Jungle Cruise is one of the most common rides found at Disney theme parks across the globe. The attraction simulates a river boat cruise along several of the world’s most famous waterways in the style of an adventuring 1930s British exploratory party. It includes numerous animatronic beasts and the entire adventure is narrated by one of the park’s employees playing a tour guide. While the Pirates of the Caribbean film took many liberties in reimagining that ride for the big screen, there’s no telling just how much of the actual Jungle Cruise will make it into the final movie.
