Jeri Ryan will appear in the second episode of "Arrow" season four as Jessica Danforth, a friend of the Queen family with political ambitions. Access Hollywood reports that those political ambitions "will place her in the crosshairs of a menacing antagonist."

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim Tweeted out the front page of the second episode script earlier today, revealing that it would be titled "The Candidate." Ryan's casting as a politically-minded character further hints that "Arrow" season four may be headed in a similar direction, taking influence from the comics storyline where Oliver became mayor of Star City.

Best known as Seven of Nine in "Star Trek: Voyager," Ryan's past credits also include Syfy's "Helix" and TNT's "Major Crimes."

Starring Stephen Amell, David Ramsey and Emily Bett Rickards, "Arrow" season four is scheduled to debut 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 on The CW. Ryan's episode will air on October 14.
