Actor Jeremy Renner stars in a new, tension-filled trailer for the upcoming Paramount+ original drama series Mayor of Kingstown.

Following the McLuskys, a family of power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, Mayor of Kingstown sees the family "attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither," the synopsis reads. The series addresses themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, with a focus on Kingstown's thriving business of incarceration. Renner stars in the series as Mike McLusky alongside Kyle Chandler as Mitch McLusky and Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky. Mayor of Kingstown will also feature performances from Dianne Wiest, Hugh Dillon and Emma Laird.

The upcoming show is co-created by Taylor Sheridan, whose body of work includes scripts for films like Sicario and Wind River, as well as the western drama series Yellowstone. The debut season of Mayor of Kingstown is scheduled to run for ten episodes when it premieres Nov. 14 on the Paramount+ streaming service.

Other projects currently in production at Paramount+ include The Offer, a dramatized look at the making of Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather. The miniseries, however, recently suffered a $6 million setback due to production stoppage attributed to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Still, The Offer's ten episodes remain slated for a 2022 premiere on the streaming service.

Paramount has also begun casting for its planned Grease prequel series. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will follow the original Pink Ladies -- Rizzo, Frenchie, Marty, Jan, and Sandy -- on their rise to popularity four years before the events of 1978's Grease. Production is looking for "true triple threats who are 18 years or older" to play high school juniors, noting all gender expressions, sexual orientations, body types, ethnicities, races, nationalities, regions and performers with disabilities are welcome.

Over on the film side of things, Paramount recently announced plans to revive MTV's Teen Wolf with a new movie. Signing a deal with Jeff Davis, the creator of the original 1985 Teen Wolf film and showrunner on the 2011 MTV series, Paramount revealed the new film four years to the day after the 100-episode series concluded in 2017.  The Teen Wolf revival film will see the return of Scott McCall in the town of Beacon Hills gathering both new allies and trusted friends to "fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they've ever faced." Neither a release window nor cast has been revealed for the upcoming film.
