Star Trek: The Next Generation alum LeVar Burton's dream of guest-hosting Jeopardy! is finally coming true.
Burton will host episodes airing from July 26-July 30. Other newly announced guest-hosts include Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, David Faber and Joe Buck.
Burton's quest to guest-host Jeopardy! gained public awareness when the actor shared a fan petition, which -- at the time of this writing -- has received over 245,000 signatures. The petition was subsequently signal-boosted by Burton's The Next Generation co-star Jonathan Frakes.
"It feels like, 'Wow, they really are behind me,'" Burton said after seeing the petition. "They want this for me as much as I want it for me, I believe, because it makes so much sense to them too." He also noted that he watched the gameshow "almost every night of my life" since elementary school. The actor even took part in Celebrity Jeopardy!, winning nearly $15,000 for the Somalia Foundation.
Jeopardy! has utilized a rotating panel of guest-hosts ever since the passing of the show's original host, Alex Trebek, passed away in November 2020 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
