The Boys wrapped filming on its third season, and series newcomer Jensen Ackles is having flashbacks to another series that finished production on the same date.

Many of the Amazon Prime series' stars celebrated finishing up the final season on social media, but in Ackles' post on Instagram, he could not deny that there was a pretty big coincidence with the the date. Sept. 10 was significant in his life once again. While it was his and the cast's last day involved in The Boys' third season, it was also the one-year anniversary of Supernatural's final day of production.

"Alright gang, fun fact for you," Ackles said in the video posted, "A year ago today, September 10th, 2020, was the last day on the set of Supernatural. Today, September 10th, 2021, is the last day on the set of The Boys. Coincidence?" The caption the actor included for the video read, "What is the universe trying to tell me?"

When Supernatural had wrapped one year ago, Ackles posted a farewell message to the series on Instagram as well, saying that he was "so grateful for these memories," and thanked those he worked with and all the fans who had supported the show. The Boys was the next live-action production he would be move on to act in, though he did have other projects in the works. Ackles recently voiced Batman for the two-part film series, Batman: The Long Halloween.

For The Boys, Ackles has taken on a role unlike the heroic caped crusader or the Batman-like Dean Winchester. He will portray Soldier Boy, The Boys' twist on Marvel's Captain America, and while there are many fan questions surrounding how the new supe will be worked into the series, it has been teased that the character will behave very similar to the series primary antagonist, Homelander. Showrunner Eric Kripke has previously described Soldier Boy as "Homelander before Homelander," and that he will have the same "ego and ambition" as the homicidal maniac who feels he can do whatever he wants.

The video posted by Ackles also saw a return to his clean-shaven look sported more during his time as Dean Winchester than Soldier Boy. Ackles had grown a rugged beard for the new role, but the video illustrated that Ackles no longer needs the beard for the production any time soon.

The Boys Season 3 will reportedly be released towards the early half of 2022, with reports also saying that the series has already been renewed for a fourth season. It is unclear if Ackles will have a role beyond the upcoming season, but the actor is also working on a Supernatural prequel seriesThe Winchesters. Ackles plans to serve as a producer and narrator for the series in development.
