Jenny Slate and Ari Graynor to Star in FX Road-Trip Comedy

"Parks and Recreation" alum Jenny Slate will star with "Fringe" actress Ari Graynor in a comedy pilot for FX.

Deadline reports the project, described as “like 'Thelma and Louise' — but nobody dies,” reunites "Obvious Child" star Slate with the romantic comedy's director/writer Gillian Robespierre and producer Elisabeth Holm.

Holm will direct the pilot from a script by Robespierre about two creative partners who make a movie together and then head off on a cross-country car trip to their next project. Production begins Tuesday in New York City.

"Obvious Child" was a breakout project for Slate, whose credits include "Saturday Night Live," "Kroll Show," "House of Lies" and "Parks & Rec," on which she played Mona-Lisa Saperstein. Graynor had recurring roles on "The Sopranos" and "Fringe" (as Rachel Dunham, Olivia's sister), and starred on the short-lived "Bad Teacher."
