Critics have already heaped praise on Spider-Man: Homecoming, the franchise reboot following Tom Holland's debut as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. Although a lot is already known about the film, actress Jennifer Connelly's role remained a bit of a mystery -- that is, until now.

Entertainment Weekly confirmed the actress voices Karen, the AI inside Peter Parker's Spider-suit, on loan to him from Tony Stark. Iron Man has been a proponent of artificial intelligence, first with JARVIS (voiced by Paul Bettany, Connelly's husband) and then with the creation of Vision (portrayed once again by Bettany).

"Yes, it's Jarvis' wife. Pretty cool, right?" director Jon Watts told the magazine.

Bettany debuted as JARVIS in 2008's Iron Man, and transition into the onscreen role of Vision with 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Opening Friday nationwide, Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man and Michael Keaton as Vulture, in addition to Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
