After being mentioned several times as director Darren Aronofsky's No. 1 choice to star opposite Russell Crowe in the Biblical epic Noah, Jennifer Connelly is finally in official talks for the role of the title character's wife, Variety reports.

If she does sign on, the project will be something of a reunion for the actress. She played opposite Crowe in A Beautiful Mind and also in Aronofsky's second film Requiem for a Dream. In addition to Crowe and Connelly, the film will star Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth.

The Paramount Pictures/New Regency co-financed film is set to appear in theaters March 28, 2013.
