'Jem and the Holograms' Featurette Goes Behind the Scenes of Live-Action Movie

Universal Pictures showcases "Jem and the Holograms" in a new video that goes behind the scenes of director Jon M. Chu's live-action adaptation of the 1980s animated series.

"One of the biggest challenges about taking a beloved cartoon and turning into a live-action movie is to really make it a great movie," Chu says in the video, which debuted at E! Online, "and that comes from the audience caring about your characters."

Opening Oct. 23, “Jem and the Holograms” stars Aubrey Peeples as Jerrica Benton, Stefanie Scott as Kimber, Aurora Perrineau as Shana, Hayley Kiyoko as Aja, Ryan Guzman as Rio, Molly Ringwald as guardian Aunt Bailey and Juliette Lewis as Starlight Music record executive Erica Raymond.
