If you were wondering with director Jon M. Chu's live-action adaptation of "Jem and the Holograms" would be truly outrageous, the new issue of "Elle" magazine may offer a clue.

Courtesy of io9.com arrives the first somewhat-grainy image from the film, which hints at how the band from the 1980s animated series will translate to the big screen. Alas, there's no signature pink dress to be seen, but there is a keytar, and it doesn't get more '80s than that.

Starring Aubrey Peeples, Stefanie Scott, Hayley Kiyoko and Aurora Perrineau, the PG-rated "Jem and the Holograms" centers on an orphaned teen who becomes an online recording star.
