Against all odds, Dumb and Dumber To is a thing that's actually happening.

Universal Pictures is moving forward with the Farrelly brothers' Dumb and Dumber sequel, with original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels returning as brain-dead buddies Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne. Daniels recently appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and discussed the project, without giving away too many details.

"I've seen the script. It's hysterical," he said. "We're middle-aged, we're not pretending we aren't. We're middle-aged and we're still that stupid."

Shooting begins in September, with a 2014 release date in the works.

Last year, directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly revealed that Dumb and Dumber To centers on "the fact that one of them may have sired a child. They want to go and find the child because he's having a kidney problem and he wants to ask him for one of his kidneys."
