Jean Grey is back (well, she will be, soon),and she's going to be leading her very own team of mutants. X-Men Red, announced last week by Marvel Comics, will launch in February 2018 as a companion to the current X-Men Blue and X-Men Gold from writer Tom Taylor and artist Mahmud Asrar (both veterans of the X-titles), with covers by Travis Charest. The series is billed as featuring “Jean Grey’s new team of X-Men," and as we see in the teaser image below, should feature a number of familiar faces from X-Men history.

While it would appear that some of Jean's teammates are rather obvious -- that looks like the current Wolverine on the left, and Nightcrawler's unmistakable three-fingered hand appears on the right, along with what seems to be Northstar's form -- it should be pointed out that Marvel has a history of fudging things a bit with slightly mis-representative silhouettes on similar teasers in the past.

Jean will first return in Phoenix Resurrection, which will mark the first time we've seen an adult Jean Grey in the Marvel Universe since being killed off in New X-Men circa 2004. The time-displaced teenage version of the character has been a prominent part of Marvel’s stories the past few years, and currently starts in her own ongoing Jean Grey series.

Phoenix Resurrection #1, written by Matthew Rosenberg and illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu, is scheduled for release on Dec. 27. No further details on X-Men Red are currently available, but are likely to surface later this month, with the release of Marvel’s February 2018 solicitations.
