As Jay and Silent Bob Reboot moves into post-production, filmmaker Kevin Smith confirmed the return of another actor to his shared cinematic universe.

The writer and director of the upcoming sequel shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the film on his Instagram account. In the photo, Rosario Dawson hugs Smith, who is still dressed as his character Silent Bob.

Confirming Dawson would appear in the film, Smith hinted that the actress may portray a new character rather than reprise her previous role as Becky, who was introduced in 2006's Clerks II. The character was last seen accepting a marriage proposal from that film's protagonist Dante Hicks while pregnant with his child.

Smith announced that principal photography on the film wrapped this week after shooting for three weeks in New Orleans. Smith has also revealed that the sequel would be a direct followup to not only 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but also the entire View Askewverse he created with 1994's Clerks.

Written and directed by Kevin Smith, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot stars Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Shannon Elizabeth, Jason Lee, Donnell Rawlings and more. The film is expected to hit theaters later this year.
