Jason Statham will reprise his "Furious 7" role as Deckard Shaw in the eighth installment of the blockbuster franchise.

“We’re already talking about doing another one, part eight,” the actor told "Access Hollywood" Wednesday during the opening of Universal Studios' “Fast & Furious—Supercharged” ride. “I’m a newcomer. I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another.”

He'll join franchise veterans Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, who have already confirmed their involvement in the sequel.

The news comes just as "Furious 7" crosses $1.5 billion in the worldwide box office, tussling with Marvel's "The Avengers" for the No. 3 spot, behind "Avatar" and "Titanic."

"Furious 8," which may not be the official title, is set to open April 14, 2017.
