No stranger to movie franchises, Jason Statham already has "The Transporter," "Crank," "The Expendables" and "Fast and the Furious" among his long list of credits. However, he wouldn't mind adding another: James Bond.

With Daniel Craig approaching the end of his 007 contract, The Guardian asked Statham whether he'd be interested in taking the role. “Could I do it? Abso-fucking-lutely,” the action star replied. “Would I do it? Abso-fucking-lutely. Is Daniel Craig a great Bond? Abso-fucking-lutely.”

“Yeah, I’d make a decent Bond,” continued Statham, who plays a secret agent in the new Paul Feig action comedy "Spy." “But it’d be very, very different if I did it.”

However, the actor, who took a turn as antagonist in "Furious 7," would decline an offer to portray a Bond villain. “I don’t know if I wanna to do that," Statham said. "That’s not my thing. I’d rather play the other guy.”

"Spy," which also stars Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne and Jude Law, opens Friday.
